A Trunk Show is a showcase of upcoming garments from the designer current season collection. They are displayed in a showroom for retailers and sometimes customers. They are allowed to try on the garments and purchase them. Above is a video from Oscar de la Renta trunk show at Nordstrom. In the Interview with Gregg Andrews (fashion creative director of Nordstrom) he explains how the trunk show works and how buyers proceed to putting chosen garments in stores. I really like the blue and black strapless gown that was shown at 4:50.
I actually looked at this video when looking for trunk shows for my own blog. I thought it was a good video because it mixed showcasing the collection with thoughts from the creative director. I like how you get to see it from his perspective and what goes on putting on the show. It is also interesting to know how the garments go from buyers choosing specific pieces to being sold in stores to consumers.
